ZEN PLANNER ROLL-OUT
Our club is rolling out Zen Planner, a software and service that will help us manage our club. We are starting to use it now, and our goal is to have it running smoothly by the end of the year. It offers a lot of benefits:
Of course, Zen Planner is not free, one reason we are raising our rates next year, but it will make it easier for our volunteer staff to manage the club.
We will have a learning curve as we make this transition, so please be patient as we work through the bugs. Help us out by letting us know of anything that is not working or could be improved.
RECRUITING
In December and January, we will be holding demonstrations at several local schools. We expect we will recruit many new members. Our goal is to build our club so that we have more people to fence and share this great sport with more people. We will be hosting a 5-week (10 class) beginner class starting in February 11 for these new students. This will be at a separate time (4:00-5:15 pm) than our normal times so as not to dilute our focus.
FENCER DEVELOPMENT
Our goal is to develop our students into competitive fencers that can perform well at tournaments at the regional and national level. We are committed to improving our coaching skills so that we can train our students quickly and effectively.
UPCOMING TOURNAMENTS
April 12, Four Corners Feud - Our own tournament. Be sure to register now. The more people we have signed up, the likelier we will draw fencers from out of town.
Congratulations to Myles and Zeke for earning the E ratings at our last tournament. The full results are in the link below:
